My goal to read 200 books in a year

I have set myself a challenge for 2019, a challenge to read 200 books in a year!!

In the last few years I have been reading over 50 books a year and in my peak year, I read over 70. However, I am going to push myself even further and aim for 200.

If you read this and think, Chris, you are nuts, you are probably right, but I am very intrigued by the impact that reading 200 books in a year will have on me.

I will be reading some books more than once. This will be included in the 200 number. Repetition is the mother of skill after all, as proclaimed by Tony Robbins.

Reading 200 books will not only allow me to experience that repetition, but it will also provide continuous motivation, education and space for exploratory reading.

To aid me on this journey, I will be listening to audiobooks as well as reading books on my Kindle. Although, I have had an Audible account for at least a couple of years, I have neglected to utilise the power of listening to audiobooks. In fact, it would be very difficult for me to reach 200 books in a year without doing so unless I was speed reading.

My book recommendations list will be updated regularly and I will include the new suggestions in my monthly newsletter. You can subscribe to the newsletter here.

One of the key reasons that I have set this challenge is because of the new goals that I have set for myself. I have set these goals because I know that I am capable of much more than I am displaying in my life currently. To become the person that I truly want to be, I cannot remain as the person that I am today. It will require a huge change. As a result, I need to upgrade my knowledge and perspective in a major way.

As a voracious reader, this is one of the many approaches that I will be taking to reach my goals. Let’s see what impact it has.
