Book Review: Holistic Dental Care by Nadine Artemis

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I care a lot about health. A little while back I went through a phase of reading about many different areas and dental care was one of them.

Like many, I hardly go to the dentist and usually only go when things seem wrong or when I feel extremely guilty for not looking after my teeth.

However, this book really opened my eyes on dental health and taught me about a lot of the flaws found in dental treatment such as the toxic mercury that is used in fillings for example.

Further to that, the body is interconnected in so many ways that it is simply mind boggling. I started reading this book again and was reminded of how important our dental health is. The thing with these types of books is that there is so much to take in that you often need to read it over and over again to recall some of the key information. This should be expected though, as topics like this require studying and the embodiment of habits. Habits that can be life changing might I say.

The most important thing to takeaway from this book beyond the practical advice it gives, is that your teeth are living organisms and can heal by following good practices.

I get really excited when I read books like this that teach me new things that I was blind to about health. Being a big believer that health is wealth and that many industries profit from our ignorance, it’s great to read a book that shines a light on what is a sensitive area for many.

It’s always better to be proactive than reactive and this is especially true when it comes to health.

If you care about your health and the health of your teeth. I would definitely recommend this, there are some great tips in it that I have been practicing for about a year or more now and when I have followed them regularly I have definitely noticed a big difference.

One of my favourite excerpts is:

“Our bodies are brilliantly designed. We are created completely, with an internal process that cares for our teeth. If we eliminate what hinders the innate functioning of our bodies, our bodies are free to thrive”
