The law of persistent effort

Today has been a long day. My energy and willpower is low. I want to go to sleep and start again renewed, but before I do that I must honour the law of persistent effort.

We live in a world of instant gratification. We have easy access to things that in the past you could only dream of.

We can instant message people. We can take pictures and videos and share it with the world instantly on Instagram. We can instantly view a massive film library with Netflix and get lost in our favourite series. We can instantly search the vast web via engines like Google and ask any question on our mind.

This is all great and I love how technology continues to evolve, but there is a problem when the easy road is travelled too often. If we take in to consideration that anything worth accomplishing or having requires effort, this easy mindset opposes it.

It is true that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. That first step is very important, but so is taking that one step again and again. In a world where it is easier and easier to take the first step, it is the person that continues stepping that makes a difference.

The easy thing to do is just take another first step elsewhere.
